Public invited to presentation on road impact fees

The La Plata County Road & Bridge division will hold an informational presentation on road impact fees at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2 in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 1101 E. 2^nd Ave. in Durango.

The county road impact fees would be charged to residential and non-residential development in the unincorporated county to cover the capital costs of expanding the capacity of the county roads system to accommodate traffic caused by new development. The presentation will be given by Gabe Preston, a county contracted consultant with RPI Consulting.

The Board of County Commissioners may consider the implementation of road impact fees in the future, but this is an informational presentation only and no formal actions or decisions will be made on this matter at this meeting.
