Interpretation Service for Commissioners' Decision-Making Meetings
La Plata County meetings that streamed on Zoom can now have the captions automatically translated, in real-time, to another language. There are over 28 languages that Zoom can automatically translate to from English and those languages can be quickly and easily selected in Zoom by the user.
To further our core values of Accountability, Integrity & Respect and to ensure that Board of County Commissioners' Business Agenda and Planning Agenda meetings are accessible and inclusive, La Plata County offers interpretation services via Zoom.
For interpretation at a decision-making meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, requestors must notify the County of the need for interpretation and language needed by 8:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the Tuesday meeting to schedule a professional interpreter. For many of the languages, La Plata County must work with a third party to provide interpretation and the County is dependent upon the availability of the third party - advanced notice helps! No liability is assumed by the County or the third party for any errors, omissions or ambiguities in the interpretation provided.
