The La Plata County Fairgrounds is located on 32 acres in the heart of Durango. The facility include a 10,000 square foot exhibit hall, 6 spacious meeting rooms, a rodeo arena that seats 1,600, a 33,000 square foot pavilion for livestock shows and exercising horses, 2 baseball fields and a picnic shelter that seats 60.
Annual events such as the La Plata County Fair and Fiesta Days celebrate our community's rural southwestern lifestyle and are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The La Plata County Fair is held yearly in early August. Open Class Livestock Entry Forms, Demolition Derby Entry Forms and Rules and Regulations, and booth contracts can be printed from the website and mailed to 2500 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301, with appropriate fees. Year-round activities at the Fairgrounds include business and social functions, consumer shows, trade shows, equestrian activities, rodeos and livestock events, concerts and recreational uses including baseball and lacrosse.

The La Plata County Fairgrounds is one of the most valuable and highly utilized properties in La Plata County. In an effort to maximize its potential for users and activities of all kinds, the County has completed a master plan for the Fairgrounds developed to address the growing demands on Fairgrounds facilities and improve its configuration to better accommodate its users and activities.
