Yard Waste at the Bayfield Transfer Station

The Yard Waste program will close on Friday, December 1, 2023 until next spring.

La Plata County offers residents a yard waste collection site located at the Bayfield Convenience Center at 4496 CR 223 that provides a place for  disposal of dry yard waste such as tree trimmings, slash, pine needles, and tree trunks.  Please do not bring mulch, grass clippings, weeds or sagebrush and do not contaminate with weeds, decking, boards, ash/coals, garbage bags or any metal or trash.  Material deposited into the yard waste pile is then mulched and made available to the public free of charge. You must load your own mulch, but the County does offer several free mulch-loading days in the spring and fall at no charge.  Sign up to receive an email notification for free mulch loading days.

YARD WASTE may be disposed of at $8 PER LOAD.
