Yard Waste at the Bayfield Transfer Station
Yard waste is open at the Bayfield Transfer Station. Yard waste is not accepted at the Marvel Transfer Station.
Please do not leave trash or metal at the yard waste pile. Yard Waste Only! This does not include mulch, plants such as weeds or any vegetation, decking, old boards or ash-coals of any kind. This program is for tree waste. Please stop putting trash into the yard waste pile, it is not for household trash!
La Plata County offers residents a yard waste collection site located at the Bayfield Convenience Center at 4496 CR 223 that provides local residents disposal of their dry yard waste such as tree trimmings, slash, pine needles, and tree trunks. Please do not bring mulch, grass clippings, weeds or sagebrush. Consider combining trips by bringing your household waste and yard waste to drop off when you get your mulch. The accumulated yard waste is mulched and made available to County residents, free of charge. Residents must load their own mulch, but the County tries to offer several free mulch loading days in the spring and fall. Sign up to receive an email notification for free mulch loading days.
TIPPING FEES INCREASE BEGINS JANUARY 1, 2020 for YARD WASTE at $8 PER LOAD.
