Trash Information

TRANSFER STATIONS AND  BAYFIELD YARD WASTE ARE OPEN.  PLEASE NOTE NEW HOURS!

Free mulch loading on Thursday April 25, 2024 from 8am to 4pm!

General Information for the Bayfield and Marvel Transfer Stations
La Plata County does not offer trash pick up services; however, the transfer stations are available for residents to drop off their residential waste.  Dry brown yard waste may be disposed of at the Bayfield Transfer Station for $8 per load. There is no yard waste option at the Marvel Transfer Station.

All waste deposited at a Transfer Station must be moved to a landfill and therefore, residents are asked to take large loads directly to the landfill. While trailers are accepted at the Transfer Stations, dump trailers are not accepted at either location. All heavy construction debris must be taken to the landfill.
