Planning Commission
The PC makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning planning matters and decisions. The PC has the administrative and review roles depicted in LUC's Table 66-15 and as otherwise provided in the LPC LUC, including: adoption and revision of comprehensive (master) plan, including district plans, for the physical development of the unincorporated territory of the county; development, proposal, and recommendation (to the board) of subdivision regulations, zoning regulations, and other land use and environmental regulations; and cooperative planning activities with the planning commissions of incorporated municipalities within the county and with land use authorities in other counties.
LPC's PC works together with City of Durango's planning commission to form the Joint Planning Commission, for development projects within the joint planning area, pursuant to C.R.S. § 30-28-105 and the intergovernmental agreement between the county and the City of Durango.
