FRIDAY, October 22
There are no public meetings scheduled for this day.

MONDAY, October 25
1:00 p.m. – The Board and staff will meet with representatives of certified public accountants RubinBrown to receive a presentation on the 2020 audit report. The meeting will be held in the County Administration Building board room located at 1101 E. 2nd Avenue, Durango.

TUESDAY, October 26
8:30 a.m. – Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  • For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b) regarding legal obligations created by participating in opioid Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State of Colorado and the regional council created under the MOU.
  • Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e) regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State of Colorado and other local jurisdictions regarding distribution of settlement funds from opioid litigation and proposed intergovernmental agreement (IGA) and bylaws for the regional council created by the MOU.

10:00 a.m. – Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  • Presentation – Durango La Plata County Airport 2022 Budget, Tony Vicari
  1. Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish.
  2. Approval of Resolution 2021-29 establishing the office closure schedule for La Plata County offices in 2022.
  3. Approval of a letter of support for 4CORE's grant request for funding to implement Regulation 86: Graywater Control Regulation.
  4. Consideration of Colorado Opioids Settlement Memorandum of Understanding with the Colorado Attorney General's Office and Associated Agreements.

Immediately following the Business Agenda:
Board of Equalization meeting

  1. Approval of agreement and stipulation as to classification and actual value for tax year 2021 between the La Plata County Board of Equalization and HPI/GSA-3A LLC.

9:00 a.m. - The Board has been invited to attend a virtual Counties & Commissioners Acting Together (CCAT) Affordable Housing Committee meeting.

3:30 p.m. – Commissioner Porter-Norton’s Community Office Hours
Commissioner Marsha Porter-Norton will hold in-person community office hours in Durango for members of the public to meet with her to discuss county issues of interest or concern. The Commissioner’s office hours will be held from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the La Plata County Administration Building in the training room located at 1101 E. 2nd Avenue, Durango.

THURSDAY, October 28
2:00 p.m. –
The Board has been invited to attend the grand opening of the Espero Apartments, a 40-unit project of supportive housing developed by Housing Solutions for the Southwest in partnership with BluLine Development. The opening celebration will be held at the Espero Apartments located at 1051 Avenida del Sol, Durango.
