Public invited to second presentation on road impact fees on May 22

The La Plata County Road & Bridge division will hold a second informational presentation on road impact fees at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 1101 E. 2nd Ave. in Durango.

The county road impact fees would be charged to residential and non-residential development in the unincorporated county to cover the capital costs of expanding the capacity of the county roads system to accommodate traffic caused by new development. The presentation will be given by Gabe Preston, a county contracted consultant with RPI Consulting.

The presentation was given during a daytime session on May 2 and this second meeting provides an opportunity for those who were unable to attend the earlier meeting to see and hear the presentation.

The Board of County Commissioners may consider the implementation of road impact fees in the future, but this is an informational presentation only and no formal actions or decisions will be made on this matter at this meeting.

The meeting will be accessible remotely at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/99485313933?pwd=Si9McCtqLzBiSHU4K0pNYnVRbUdRdz09
