TUESDAY, November 8
10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish.
  2. Approval of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between La Plata County and Prowers County regarding the Hotline County Connection Center.
  3. Ratification of a grant application to Department of Local Affairs for the Peace Officers Mental Health Support grant program.
  4. Approval of Abatement Petition for Tax Year 2021 Petitioner: TBK Bank R005407.
  5. Denial of Abatement Petition for Tax Year 2021 Petitioner: TBK Bank #R418458.
  6. Approval of corrected stipulation for tax year 2020 Petitioner: TBK Bank #R005407
  7. Approval of a letter of support for the Table to Farm Compost grant application to the USDA Fertilizer Production Expansion Program.
  8. Approval of a Temporary Construction Easement Agreement between La Plata County and Jaynes Corporation of Colorado for a temporary easement across property located at 2424 Main Avenue (Senior Center) until February 28, 2024 for construction at Durango High School.
  9. Approval of the delegation of authority to the County Manager to execute an amended contract with Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado adding requirements for performing community awareness work and increasing their payment by $30,000.00 relating to funding distribution for social impact programs.
  10. Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Bureau of Land Management and La Plata County for cooperative development of the Big Game Habitat, Movement Route and Migration Corridor Resource Management Plan Amendment.
  11. Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Colorado Department of Transportation and La Plata County regarding Wildlife crossings.
  12. Public Hearing for Resolution 2022-21 to amend Convenience Center Tipping Fees.

11:30 a.m. - Judging for VFW Scholarship Program
The Board has been invited to judge the writing and speaking skills for children in grades 6-12 for the VFW Scholarship Program. The event will be held at VFW Post 4031, 1550 Main Ave. in Durango.

THURSDAY, November 10

9:00 a.m. – Interviews for County Boards & Commissions
The Board will interview county residents for expiring seats on various Boards & Commissions.

5:30 p.m. – Good Neighbor Event
The Board and CSU Extension will host a Good Neighbor Event at the Breen Community Building, located at 15300 CO-140 in Hesperus. The Board of Commissioners, county staff, and CSU Extension will discuss Good Neighbor practices including Soil & Water Health, Weed & Rodent Management, Wildfire Mitigation, Historical Preservation and more.

FRIDAY, November 11
The La Plata County Offices will be closed in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
