THURSDAY, July 7
4:00 p.m. – Commissioner Salka Office Hours

Commissioner Matt Salka will hold in-person community office hours in Bayfield on Thursday, July 7 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. for members of the public to discuss county issues of interest or concern. Commissioner Salka’s office hours will be held in the Pine River Public Library located at 395 Bayfield Center Dr, Bayfield, CO.

FRIDAY, July 8
There are no public meetings scheduled for this day.

MONDAY, July 11
9:00 a.m. – Radio Interview
The Board will hold a radio interview at Four Corners Broadcasting, 190 Turner Dr, Suite C, Durango. To submit a question to the Board of County Commissioners for this interview, please email news@radiodurango.com.

TUESDAY, July 12
8:30 a.m. – Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  • For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Demolition Derby – parental waivers for minors and closure of Purple Cliffs Camp
  • Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e). Purpose: Closure of Purple Cliffs camp

10:00 a.m. – Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish
  2. Approval of United States Forest Service Modification of Grant or Agreement for the County Road 243 Schedule "A" Road Maintenance Agreement, second amendment
  3. Approval of an appointment to the Ignacio Community Library District Board of Trustees
  4. Approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement between La Plata County and Otero County regarding Social Services
  5. Approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement between La Plata County and Pitkin County regarding Economic Assistance Services
  6. Consideration of a change of manager at Glacier Management Associates, LLC dba Valley Clubhouse on a hotel & restaurant liquor license
  7. Consideration of loan and grant agreement and other associated documents with HomesFund related to the Triangle Trailer Park acquisition

7:30 a.m. – State Land Board July Meeting
The Board has been invited to attend the July meeting of the State Land Board at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, located at 2500 Main Avenue in Durango.  An agenda for this meeting will be posted by Tuesday evening at: https://slb.colorado.gov/public-meetings

6:00 p.m. – Town of Ignacio/La Plata County Joint Work Session
The Board will meet with the Town of Ignacio Board of Trustees and staff to discuss items of mutual interest. The meeting will be held in the Ignacio Town Hall Community Room, located at 570 Goddard Ave, Ignacio. An agenda for this meeting will be posted by Wednesday morning at: http://laplatacountyco.iqm2.com/Citizens/calendar.aspx

FRIDAY, July 15
8:30 a.m. - CCI Legislative Issues Discussion
The Board has been invited to virtually attend the Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) Proposed 2023 Legislative Issue Discussion.
