Victim Impact Panel
Due to COVID regulations, we must limit the number of people who can attend each in-person session of the Victim Impact Panel (VIP).

NOTE:  Masks are required to be worn at all times when inside the La Plata County courthouse.


To register for a VIP class, please bring a blank money order in the amount of $25 to the La Plata County Court House.  1060 E. 2nd Ave. Durango CO.   (MAP)  and speak with one of the Deputies at the entrance. 

Pre-registration is recommended but not required.  Class sizes are still limited at this point, and if you wait till the night of, you may get turned away if the class is full.

VIP at the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E. 2nd Avenue
Sign-in begins at 5:30 p.m.  The program starts at 6:00 p.m. and concludes at approximately 8:00 p.m. The courthouse doors are closed and locked at 6:00 p.m.  There will be no late admittance.  BRING A PHOTO ID WITH YOU.  No children, friends, or companions are allowed at the panel.  PLEASE leave your phones at home or in your car. There is no storage for cell phones on the premises.  ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL OR ILLEGAL DRUGS IN YOUR SYSTEM UPON REPORTING. After the program you will receive proof of attendance which must be filed with the court (or given to your probation officer if you are on supervised probation.)

On-Line VIP:

Per Judge Woods, you may also attend the MADD online VIP.  That class is $65, and you must have a camera on your computer to complete it.  Once finished, you will need to print the certificate of completion and file it with the courts.
