Courthouse Security
The La Plata County Sheriff's Office is responsible for courthouse security. Full time deputies are assigned to the courthouse to ensure the safety of all occupants and the courts.
Citizens are not allowed to bring any type of knife, weapons of any kind, or explosives of any kind into the Courthouse. Prohibited items will be confiscated. Cell phones must be shut off before entering the courtrooms.
