Energy Efficiency

From the early months of 2008 through the end of 2009 many of the counties’ facilities received substantial energy efficient upgrades by use of an Energy Services Company or ESC..  The buildings included portions of the Fairgrounds, Senior Center, Courthouse, Old Main Professional Building, and the Justice facility.  Upgrades included lighting improvements from the old magnetic ballasts to electronic, solar thermal domestic hot water, boilers, hot and chilled water pumps, a 3kW photo voltaic system, and a state of the art building management system for the courthouse.  Projected annual savings for all of the upgrades and both phases total $65,752 in utility costs and a 710 ton reduction of CO2 emissions.
