The following services will be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm:

  • Records requests can be made in person or can be made on-line HERE.
  • Civil paper service: If you have civil papers to be served please bring the papers along with payment to the office.  To look up the fees for your particular type of paper service, go to Civil Process Fees.  For questions regarding Civil Paper service please call 970-382-7050.   If you prefer to mail civil papers to the office, please mail to the address below with appropriate payment.

The La Plata Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that we are open for Concealed Carry appointments!

Please follow this link https://laplataco.permitium.com/ccw/start where you will be able to complete your application, upload your training certificate and ID, pay the fee and schedule your appointment!  We’re very excited about this new process and thank you for your patience while we got it all in place.

At this time, we are unable to take Retired Law Enforcement applications via this site, so please call, 970-247-1157, to schedule an appointment and follow the normal links for your LEOSA application and Range Qualification Form.

The permit is good for 5 years, and it will automatically expire unless renewed.  A Renewal application may be submitted no more than 120 days prior to the permit expiration date and up to 6 months after the expiration date.  If the renewal application is submitted after the expiration date a $15 fee will be added to the processing fee per CRS 18-12-211 Renewal of permits.
