Victim and Witness Assistance

The mission of the Victim/Witness Unit of the District Attorney’s office is to provide the best possible services to all persons who fall victim to crime in La Plata, Archuleta and San Juan Counties.  We can assist you from the time of arrest of the perpetrator through disposition of the case.  This includes ensuring that victims are afforded all rights that are mandated by the “Crime Victim Bill of Rights.” This support is a cumulative effort of all divisions of the District Attorney's Office, and our goal is to maintain the highest standards of victim assistance and ensure that victims and witnesses are treated with compassion, fairness, respect and dignity.
