MONDAY, Sept. 5

La Plata County offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day.

TUESDAY, Sept. 6


Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4) upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

a) The purchase, acquisition, lease, transfer, or sale of real, personal or other property pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(a) regarding possible purchase of 10 Burnett Court, Durango, Colorado

b) For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b) regarding possible purchase of 10 Burnett Court, Durango, Colorado

c) Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e) regarding possible purchase of 10 Burnett Court, Durango, Colorado


The Board will consider:

  • Project #2012-0116, San Juan Vista Estates Phase 6 Final Plat Extension of Vested Rights
  • Project #2013-0018, Green Ridge Preliminary Plat

Immediately following the Planning Agenda: SPECIAL BUSINESS AGENDA

The Board will consider:

  • Approval of Resolution 2016-25 Authorizing Administrative Denials for Property Tax Appeals and Petitions for Abatement or Refund of Taxes When Requested by Taxpayers or Their Duly Authorized Agents
  • Consideration of Amendment to Right of Way Agreement and Disturbance Compensation Agreement and Release
  • Consideration of Resolution 2016-23 adopting a position of advocacy pursuant to CRS § 1-45-117(1)(B)(III) supporting the debt and property tax question that will be submitted to the registered voters of La Plata County on the November 2016 ballot concerning the Durango-La Plata County Airport

 2:30 p.m. – WORK SESSION

The Board will meet with members of the Southern Ute Indian Tribal Council to present information on the proposed     Road & Bridge Mill Levy Increase Ballot Issue at Tribal Council Chambers, 515 Goddard Avenue, Ignacio.



The Commissioners will meet among themselves and with staff to discuss various issues. An agenda for this meeting will be posted on the La Plata County web site by Tuesday morning at:

4 p.m. – The Board has been invited to attend an Open House celebrating Phoenix’ Recycling’s new facility on C.R. 307, Durango.


7:30 a.m. – The Board will hold a breakfast meeting with the Bayfield Town Council at the Tuning Fork Café, 25 Mill Street, Bayfield.

10 a.m. – Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold Office Hours for members of the public to meet with her to discuss issues of interest at the Pine River Public Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, Bayfield.
