2019 Property Tax Information

In Colorado property taxes are paid one year in arrears. 2018 property taxes are paid in 2019.
2018 Property tax notices are mailed the last week in January to the mailing address on file with the Assessor’s Office.  You are still liable for the tax even if you do not receive a notice.  (CRS 39-10-103).
You may pay property taxes in one full payment or in two equal half payments. (CRS 39-10-104.5).
Unpaid taxes after these deadlines accrue interest, penalties and fees.

    1st Half payment deadline:      February 28, 2019

    2nd Half payment deadline:     June 17th, 2019

Full payment deadline:            April 30th, 2019

Sending your paper check, with its coupon, to the “lockbox” in Denver allows the County to save money in processing costs. Thank you for helping to keep county government expenses lower by using these methods.
Contact your mortgage company to determine if you have an escrow account which will pay property taxes on your behalf.  If there is an overpayment on your account, whoever paid “second” will receive the refund.
