The La Plata County Department of Human Services serves individuals and families in La Plata County through a variety of programs. These programs include child care, financial assistance for families, the elderly, and the disabled, food stamps, Medicaid and other health care plans, energy assistance, child support assistance, child protection services, adult protection services, and a variety of counseling services. Durango, CO – On every Tuesday in May 2010, the Durango La Plata County Senior Center will be offering computer workshops for seniors (60 years and over). Workshops are: Basic Computer Literacy, Introduction to Internet Part 1 and 2, and will be held at the Durango La Plata County Senior Center, 2424 Main Avenue, Durango. Each class is scheduled for three hours and will be taught by Fort Lewis College Professor Jon Cordalis for $15 per class.
